Spring is here and my flowers are popping! Are yours?

My absolute favorite thing in spring is watching things come back to life. I always know when spring has truly arrived when my tulips and daffodils spring up and say hello. As a kid I was awful about picking them along the sidewalks to school; in childlike joy I wanted to bestow a lovely bloom on my teachers. I've learned since then that the flower doesn't last as long plucked as it does when it is left to grow, bloom and fade naturally. I still love my flowers, I just don't pick them, though I do allow my son and the kids who visit us to pluck one every now and then. My flowers have started to really come to life and I'm looking forward to all the veggies and fruits we grow in summer.
