Public Solstice Celebration Dawn to Midnight
Special guests, including Lois LaFond and Bruce Odland, share a day of music and resonance in a free to the public event from dawn until midnight. Odland discovered The TANK decades ago and launched a Kickstarter campaign earning more than $46,000 dollars to save The TANK in 2013. These funds were used to restore The TANK as a musical center that artists from all over have experienced since and locals have come to adore as a space of exploration.
Thursday kicks off with the Dawn Sing (5:30 a.m.) as the sun streams through the portal, making a mini-sun on the opposite wall. This will begin your immersion into The TANK for the day.
The Solar Noon Bell starts at 1:17, the Titanium Bell (originally part of the Apollo Space program) will ring for two minutes when struck, activating the acoustics of The TANK unlike any other experience. You will never forget this sound and will remember for years in your mind's ear.
Finally, at sunset (approximately 8:30 p.m.) everyone is invited to bring their voice, music, instruments and join in song and celebration in the Solstice Sunset Event.
If you wish to bring your own 2018 Solstice Celebration to The TANK, send an email to James to reserve a time at email@example.com.
