Western Colorado provides amazing opportunities, and that isn't just for locals either! World ranked hang gliders are coming to our area THIS WEEKEND. We are stoked to meet some of the pilots and see them take off from Cliff Ridge in Dinosaur National Monument! These amazing sportsmen can get up to 18,000 feet in the air and fly up to 80mph, can you imagine? I can't! So we are just going to have to check it out!

There are two main aspects for spectators to watch with the pilots, launch and landing!

So for those of you that want to see the pilots launch... Go to the Cliff Ridge Launch NW of Dinosaur. There will be a banner sign showing you where to turn off Hwy 40. For full directions go to this link:https://dinosaur17.com/getting-to-launch/

The Facebook page has excellent advice for those wanting to watch the pilots!

How do you know where the pilots are going to land each day? There's a few ways:

1. Check out the "Today's Goal" Banners at the Rangely, Meeker, and Craig Chamber of Commerce Offices.

2. Signup for Meeker Event Texts: Text MeekerEvents to 555888 to receive Text updates on events - text STOP to end.

3. Listen to KRAI & 55 Country between 11am - Noon to get the primary goal the pilots will target.

Let's FLY - or go Extinct!

Don't forget there are many events ongoing in all of the towns! Maybell, Hayden, Craig, Rangely, Meeker and Dinosaur There is the Meet the Pilots event at the Rangely Auto Museum, The TANK Solstice BBQ,  Meeker's Plein Air and Youth Fishing and more!
